Initial ideas

Institution Name

The production company will be called LA Productions the reason for the name of the company is because the group members are myself Lewis and my partner Anna So it gives the audience a reason to remember the name, as well as the production company name and logo, will appear at the start of the opening sequence or some time within it. This also helps advertise the rest of the cast in the opening sequence by putting credits, the production company gets the recognition as well as the director and the main cast of the opening sequence.
Themes
Some themes that interest me are the Good vs Evil theme which is the protagonist vs the antagonist these really appeals to audiences because they will be very conflicted with what character to support as well as they will start to ask a lot of questions about each character and their backgrounds. How i will be able to convey them to the audience in 2 minutes is to introduce the characters straight away so the audience understands whose side they're on right from the beginning as well as it needs to be fast pace so the audience understands what kind of movie they’re in for. The theme for good vs evil is a good theme because it will conflict the viewers as well as it helps add more action to the movie as the two characters highly dislike each other
Genre

I am interested in the action genre and the crime genre the reason for this is i like the genres and these are the main types of movies I watch due to the director's skill at being able to grip the viewer with the different conventions as well as the many different camera angles they use to help grip and give more information about the movie, for example, an establishing shot.
I want to stay away from the comedy and horror films the reason for this is comedy is very hard to plan for and write a script for each character and my target audience isn't really interested in the genre either. Horror because the camera angles are very hard to get right as well as the special effects to try and create the scare is not available.
The inspiration behind my idea

One opening sequence that inspires me a lot is from the godfather the reason I like it so much is that it is old and iconic also because it foreshadows later events in the film, as well as the fast and furious franchise who have kept the same theme and genre all the way through which keeps the viewers coming back one key example, is the opening sequence too fast and furious 7 where one of the main characters is seen before we have even been introduced to him. I want to shoot this type of movie because it is fun to watch because it creates a tense atmosphere in the audience it also gives a sense of action and drama. In addition, the action genre inspires me because the main purpose is to entertain the audience and keep them hooked and this is my favorite type of film not being able to look away in case you miss something.
The protagonist

The main characters of the opening sequence have been put there to portray the theme and genre of the movie through the first 4 mins of it this will also help introduce the characters to the audience so they are able to get to know them better before the movie eventually starts. As well as the characters personality and how he is portrayed to the audience will matter as it affects how they feel about the character and it shows whether the character is the protagonist or the antagonist furthermore the characters will have to be relatable so the audience can relate to him or her so they're more interested in the movie because they like the character or characters.
Conventions I could use

The first convention I would use is placing my studio/company logo at the start of the opening sequence this is because I'm not a big production company so I would need to get my name out to the audience. Another convention I could use is showing my theme and genre throughout the film so the audience knows what type of film they’re watching from the beginning so for example for my action film I will make sure the opening sequence is fast-paced and keeps the viewer gripped throughout the whole thing. As well as a protagonist which will be the main character in the opening sequence, as well as there, will be an antagonist to help keep the theme going and keep the audience entertained by introducing the characters very early on so the audience gets to know the leading actors and the supporting actors. As well as the hardest one to use would be enigma put it's a really good convention to get the audience thinking and asking a question like ‘who are they’ and what is ‘gonna happen next’
